The Cyanotype Process
For a handmade solution:
25g Ferric Ammonium Citrate + distilled water to bring to 100ml.
Next measure 10g of potassium ferricyanide, then mix that with water to make up to 100ml.
Ensure both chemicals are fully disolved. Finally, in subdued light mix the two solutions together.
Must use distilled water for the best results.
I brought my chemicals off of Etsy, alternatively, you can buy the pre-made solutions, these can be found on amazon.
Procautions:
Eye protection/ face protection
Wash skin thoroughly after handling
Toxic to aquatic life
Causes serious eye irritation
Avoid release to envirionment
Also needed:
High quality printable acetate sheets
Paper - water colour paper or etching paper is suggested.
A little vinegar can be used on prints, however, too much will turn the paper into a slightly graded paper and affect the contrast.
